Lavender Mulling Spice
Our Lavender Mulling Spice is a flavorful and warm combination of dried orange peel, allspice, cinnamon, cardamon, cloves and Maine grown lavender buds. The lovely combination of spices is perfect for mulling in apple cider or making mulled wine or glogg (See instructions below).
Other ideas for using mulling spice includes:
- Spiced tea or coffee: Mull your spices in hot water before adding tea leaves or coffee grounds for an aromatic brew, or simply add a dash of ground mulling spices to your morning cup.
- Hot buttered rum: Enhance this classic cold-weather cocktail with the addition of mulling spices.
- Spiced hot chocolate: Infuse milk or cream with the spices before making hot chocolate for a unique and cozy treat.
- Cranberry or pomegranate juice: Create a non-alcoholic spiced punch for parties by simmering mulling spices with cranberry or pomegranate juice.

Directions for mulled apple cider: 1 gallon of apple cider, 4 Tbsp of spice in a tea bag or infuser. Warm on low for 15 minutes to an hour.
Directions for mulled wine: (750 ml) bottle of full body red wine, 1/4 cup brandy (or orange liqueur), 1 orange, sliced into rounds, 2 tablespoons of Lavender Mulling Spice, 4 tablespoons sugar, honey, or maple syrup to taste (or your desired sweetener)
INSTRUCTIONS: Combine ingredients into a large saucepan. Stir briefly to combine.Simmer. Cook the mulled wine on medium-high heat until it just barely reaches a simmer. (Avoid letting it bubble — you don’t want to boil off the alcohol.) Reduce heat to low, cover, and let the wine simmer for at least 15 minutes or up to 3 hours.Serve. Serve warm in heatproof mugs, topped with your favorite garnishes.Garnishes: citrus slices (orange, lemon and/or lime), cinnamon sticks, star anise
